Carstensz Expedition by Helicopter
Day 1 : Arrival in Timika
Meet and greet at Mozes Kilangin international airport in Timika. Proceed to your hotel. Free programme for the whole day. Furthermore, you’re more than welcome to join us shopping for our logistic.
Overnight in Timika.
Meals included: dinner.
Day 2 : Timika – Yellow Valley Basecamp
Take a chartered helicopter ride to the Yellow Valley Basecamp (4,300 m). The rest of the day is free programme. You can enjoy digital detox in the basecamp, while your body get acclimatised to the altitude.
Overnight in tent; camping in the Yellow Valley Basecamp.
Meals included: breakfast, lunch, dinner.
Day 3 : Exercise Day
Today is still allocated for acclimatisation in the basecamp and refresh our skills in rope. You can take a walk around the basecamp and do a little exercise by walking up to the middle ridge.
Overnight in tent; camping in the Yellow Valley Basecamp.
Meals included: breakfast, lunch, dinner.
Day 4 : Summit Attack
This will be a very long day to reach the summit of Carstensz. Start trekking at 3am. Follow a line up the north face. After scrambling approximately 500 metres over mostly solid rock, we will break out on the summit ridge where lines will be fixed in preparation for our descent. The route follows the ridge crest with grand exposure along the way. Pass four small notches as we rappel and use ascenders to negotiate this tricky sections. Descending entails multiple rappels and scrambling.

Day 5 : Yellow Valley Basecamp – Timika
The chartered helicopter will pick us up. On arrival in Timika airport, you’ll be transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is your free leisure time. Overnight in Timika.

Day 6-7 : Contingency Days
Based on our several previous expeditions, we need to reserve at least 2 days in the Yellow Valley Basecamp. This is to anticipate bad weather on Day 4 that might not be suitable to execute summit attack.
Day 8 : Bonus Trip & Departure
Bonus Trip to visit Kamoro Tribe in Timika-Papua
Drop off service in the Timika airport.
End of our expedition program.
Helicopter flights may experience weather-related delays, occasionally extending for several days. While we account for these delays with contingency days, we highly recommend planning for a potential delay of up to one week in case of prolonged disruptions.

As name the implied, this expedition combines three peaks in Sudirman range. The Sudirman range or Duguduguo or Nassau range is a mountain range in Papua Province, Indonesia. It is named after the first armed forces Commander-in-Chief- and Indoneesia National Hero Sudirman. It compries a western portion of the Maoke Mountain. The Highest peak in Oceania and Australia, Puncak Jaya or Carstensz Pyramid (4,884 m) located here. other peaks of the Sudirman range.
